Saturday 15 October saw the Woolworths Heathwood Chilled & Frozen Distribution Centre (HCFDC) take home another Master Builder award.
Having already been awarded for Excellence in Construction of Industrial Buildings – Over $5 million at the Brisbane region awards, the project has now received the highest accolade for the state of Queensland in the Industrial category.
Built by Vaughan Constructions on behalf of LOGOS Group and Woolworths, the award-winning facility is a 42,000m² semi-automated distribution centre that is fitout with Scantec Refrigeration Technologies temperature-control systems.
The HCFDC is 22-meters-high and comprises 33,460m² of warehousing, freezer, chiller and staging area, 2,796m² of office space and a 60-meter-long 179m² airbridge that connects to the neighbouring Hilton Meats facility.
The facility also houses an MHE workshop, 250 bay forklift charging room, four blast freezers, a 2,842m² returns facility as well as a pedestrian bridge, multi-deck carpark, landscaped areas and 32,000m² of hardstand.
The HCFDC is targeting a 5 Star Green Star certification for sustainability, which, if successful, will be Woolworths Group’s first 5 Star Green Star certified Distribution Centre in Queensland.
A big thank you and congratulations to our project partners: Woolworths Group, LOGOS Group, Primary Connect, Deloitte PDS Group, Watson Young Architects as well as our valued subcontractors and suppliers. The win is a collaborative effort and we recognise and appreciate everyone who was involved!
